My Inner Struggle to lose weight

Getting in shape means everything for me right now.  My sister fell sick and I gave everything up to be by her side through this ordeal.  I see what others in her situation is also going through makes me appreciate life more now than ever before.

I see life with a new set of eyes and respect the blessing from waking up every morning I have been offered to embrace.  Having said that, it’s time to make better choices in planning what I eat daily.  I love fried chicken, it’s one of my favorite foods.  However, lately I have been eating broiled and baked chicken instead.

I also incorporate a variety of salads that are tasty and exciting to eat.  When out at a restaurant, I now make healthy choices to aid me in my weight loss journey.  It’s more of a challenge out side the gym.  However, I now understand, its not a diet that works but, a healthy lifestyle that will make all the difference in reaching my goals.

There are times I don’t want to go to the gym because of all the stress from all the things going on around me.  What keeps me going is knowing what I will achieve when I reach my goals.  The new types of clothes I will be able to look good in.  The new look that I will gain, and once I achieve my goals, I will be able to pave the road for others who have been dealing with family issues they think are preventing them from moving forward.

My biggest road block is my own sabotage.  Yes! I said it.  It’s the way I think about myself that is the biggest road block that I face.  I woke up one day and realize I have for things to change, I had to change.   So, it’s time to dig deeps, and make the changes needed to reach my goals.
